What are non-selective weed control services?

Non-selective weed control applications will target weed families for broadleaf weeds, grassy weeds, and  sedges. For each application we combine a non-selective herbicide, a surfactant, and pre-emergent herbicide.  Non-selective herbicides are absorbed into the weeds through their foliage. After absrobtion into the leaves, the herbicide transitions throughout the weeds until reaching the root zone and the plant dies out.  The full process can take 7-14 days.  Symptoms of the weeds dying are yellowing or browning of the leaves, and curling up of hte leaves and stems (caused by the dehydration of the weeds as they die out).

The surfactant that is included helps the non-selective herbiced adhere to the weeds and penetrate the exterior cell wall for better results.  Also, the pre-emergent that is applied helps to reduce aditional weed seeds that are from germinating and surfacing. Typically, these services are repeated once every 60 days to treat for new weeds that do surface, and continue to prevent additional weeds.  We provide free quotes and we’re happy to answer any questions about these services. We’d love to help you save time and improve the beauty of your yard!

What's the Difference Between Non-Selective Weed Control and Selective?

Non-selective herbicides are designed to kill a broad range of plants, targeting all vegetation they come into contact with, making them ideal for clearing areas completely. In contrast, selective herbicides are formulated to target specific types of plants, such as weeds, while leaving desired crops or grass unharmed. The choice between the two depends on the application purpose, with non-selective herbicides used for total vegetation control and selective herbicides employed in areas where maintaining certain plants or grass is essential.
